I would have to say that being a boy scout was the thing that made me want to get into firefighting.The fact of helping others and seeing the looks on their faces was just as good a feeling as winning the lottery.

I have been a firefighter for over 8 years now and just recently became the safety officer over my fire dept.Some people will never know the honor of being a fireman,but for the people that do serve on a fire dept. it is an indescribable feeling.

It is truly a bond of brothers,and we feel the loss of a brother as if he or she was a true brother.
