My goal in developing Firefighter 411.com is to provide you with the kind of fire fighter information that you can use. Since I am an active member of the fire service, most of the information that I provide you will be geared towards fire department operations. Usually what happens is that when I run across something on a call that really stands out, I'll make sure that I add it to the site as soon as I can. Note: Sometimes the wording that I use may seem over simplistic for those who are veterans of the fire service. However, the reason for this is that there are a lot of people who visit this site who are contemplating becoming a firefighter and may not be as familiar with the terminology. In addition, a lot of the information here is geared towards civilians as there is a great deal of public interest regarding what firefighters do. I will also try to keep you up to date on things like fire equipment and technology. Note: If you are into historical fires, make sure you check out the section on the Winecoff Hotel fire.
