The Harley Davidson Firefighter pocketknife is a custom knife made for the fire service. The following is my size-up:

Here are my findings on reviewing the Harley Davidson Fire fighter pocket knife.
Pros: This firefighter pocket knife has a good solid feel to it and is easy to grasp. There is an extra large tumbstud on both sides of the blade which makes the knife a breeze to open.
The release button for the blade lock is conveniently located on the flat side of the handle. I found that even when wearing gloves the button worked smoothly.
I also noticed that the blade on the Harley Davidson Firefighter pocketknife will only fold halfway as long as the release button is depressed. This may be an added safety feature to keep from cutting your fingers.
Releasing the button allows the blade to fold back into the handle.
A seatbelt cutter is recessed into the end of the handle, which makes it readily accessible while preventing accidental injuries.
The Harley Davidson firefighter pocketknife also has a glass breaker (see cons) and lanyard loop. Both of these are located on the same end of the handle.
I tested the seatbelt cutter on a junk car that we were using for extrication practice and was very pleased with the performance.
The cutter did a nice job of slicing through the webbing with very minimal effort. Once the starter cut was made the rest was a breeze.
As far as looks are concerned, the Harley Davidson Fire Fighter pocket knife has it all. The red and black design makes it very pro fire department. In addition, there is the added touch of the Harley Davidson/Firefighter logo located on the blade.
Note:If you already have a knife you may want to check out this offer Harley Davidson leather knife sheath.
Now for the cons.
Cons: There are only a few things about the Harley Davidson firefighter pocketknife that I thought could be a little better. It seems as if the locking mechanism only comes into contact with a small edge of the blade when the knife is opened.
So what does that mean? To me there is a slight possibility that the blade might not be fully locked unless you double check it.
Just as a caution, make sure that you hear the blade "click" when you open it to help ensure full contact.
The major disappointment I found with this knife was the performance of the window punch or glass breaker. It did not work.
Even hitting the window punch against the glass with considerable force did not cause the window to break.
There are two factors that may have caused the poor performance.
1. The point of the window punch is not sharp enough and is too wide. 2. The metal that the tip is made of is too weak as it actually flattened out some from the pressure exerted.
As far as operation of the knife is concerned, although it can be done with one hand, the knife really requires both hands to open while wearing fire department gloves.
One other possible con is that the Harley Davidson firefighter pocketknife may be very hard to come by (in the near future). It is my understanding that there is a limited supply available and that there will not be any more made.
I will try to keep you posted on this.

Update 10/02/2010 - As I mentioned earlier, this is a very hard knife to find. The reason for the short supply is that the Harley Firefighter Issue knives are no longer being made.
Also, because the HD0053FF is so popular, any remaining knives have sky rocketed in price. My research concerning the availability of the knives shows that if you can find a new one in good shape for less than $100.00 you better buy it.

Comments
I imagine that the majority of people who buy the Harley Davidson Fire Fighter pocket knife will want it for the purpose of having a collector's item.
This is especially true because they are no longer being made.
Although it is a tough knife (except for the window punch), I feel certain that if you owned one you would want to take extremely good care of it.
This special Fire Department issue is one of those knives that you would be happy to show your friends but not let them borrow, as you probably wouldn't get it back.
All in all I would have to give the Harley Davidson Firefighter pocketknife a high rating.
