A woman who has wanted to be a firefighter for years

After almost a 1/2 of a lifetime of wanting to be a firefighter/EMT, I think I'm about to fulfill a dream.

I met my now fiance who is a Captain, Safety Office, Firefighter and EMT by accident through my work. I have talked to him about it since day one and I am now waiting for the training to start. It doesn't hurt that he actually does some of the training.

I love helping people and I know that the work is not easy, but I have a lot of respect for what they do and I want to feel that I do not regret not at least trying. I am very good in emergency situations and wish I had tried to do this years ago, but being a woman, I was often told it's a mans job.
